Receiving Feedbacks...

In our professional life we need to take up several courses to improve our technical and management skills. And one of those several courses is "Giving & Receiving Feedback". This course deals about creatively giving and receiving feedbacks. The prime objective of this course is to make people aware of the importance of giving and receiving regular feedbacks be it positive or neagative.

Now.. coming to the point. Blogging is one of the best ways to expresses yourself and receive feedbacks(comments) for that. You can write what you want and you can get to know others feelings to what you wrote. So if someone blogs it means that he wants others to read his blog. and if he wants others to read his blog whynot receiving comments for his blog? If the answer is "Not interested"... then its like "I'll do the entire talking... you just listen". is this fair? i don't think so.. :( And if he doesn't want others to read his blog too then why blog in the internet. He can just pen down his 'feelings' in a personal diary and lock it safe in his vault.

And its so sad to see such several blogs where comments are not enabled and some of them find very naive excuses like "i've disabled comments to avoid spam", "IPR violation".. all funny stuffs... then why are those several spam protections available for use (Word verification, Blogrolling, etc to name a few)

So guys... wake up!! give it a thought and enable your comments if you haven't. And feel free to give me feedbacks(comments). They are really important for you as well as me...

Setting Expectations!

I’ve been always wondering…

Is it better to set very high expectations about us to others and having a tough time to meet them or even fail in doing so?
Or
Is it better to set low expectations about us and achieve them or even more and thus impressing people?

ON@TCC (One Night @ The Call Centre) by Chetan Bhagat

The story is all about 6 people working in a call centre: Shyam - the main character through whose eyes the author narrates the story, Vroom-the prank guy, Military Uncle - the solitary person who retired from military service, Priyanka - the so called heroine of the story, Radhika - a 'responsible' housewife, Esha-the wannabe model & of course God...

The whole story is set in one single night. And it was one of the most important night in their lives. They got a phone call. A phone call from God…

The story line starts with their day at work..sorry night at work.. Each one of the characters had their own ups and downs mostly downs in their life and has faced and still facing many issues in their life. Even most of them are not very happy of what they do currently to make both ends meet. But this night turned to be a much rougher one. To add up to their personal problems they too have a ‘Dumb and Evil’ boss.
But all of a sudden this night turns to be a crucial night in their life. They get a call from the most unexpected person… God. And this call turns out to be the turning point of their life. So go ahead and grab your copy of ON@TCC to find out how their lived were changed…

$$ Having read the prologue and interviews with Chetan well before the release of the book I was well aware about the story line and the story is all about a phone call from God. So when I picked the book for reading I was expecting that call very early say somewhere around chap#5 (There are 37 chapters in the book). But to my surprise I had to wait till Chap#30 to pick that call. Maybe line were busy will then ;) and more surprisingly that call from God lasted ‘just 1 pulse’ (read just 1 chapter). But it would say that it is the most powerful or influencing or trump chapter of the entire book. Chetan has once again come up with a very simple yet wonderful book. I would say that it’s equally good or even better than the famed first one – FPS (Five Point Someone).

Did u know?: FPS is going to be made into movie and Chetan is busy preparing the script for that nowadays.

What Next?

Landed back in office today after 4 days of peaceful life at home.

Was thinking during the travel.. which book to grab next... Didn't take much time to make a decision.. One Night at the Call Center. This one should be as good as the the previous one (Five Point Someone) by Chetan Bhagat. The synopsis is really interesting. Also came across an interview with Chetan today in rediff.
